Objects from the Collection The Berkshire Historical Society’s artifact collection represents over 200 years of history. Berkshire-made furniture, portraits, clothing, and other items both ordinary and extraordinary are available for exhibit and research.

BHS maintains a series of small exhibits at various locations around the county. Currently on display are the following:

  • Pittsfield Post Office, 212 Fenn Street: “The Early American Kitchen.”
  • Kimball Farms, 40 Sunset Ave., Lenox, MA: "School Days: a Photographic History of Education in Berkshire County."

Many local history items may also be seen on exhibit at Arrowhead, Home of Herman Melville, the Society’s permanent museum.
